i have 2001.5 2500/cummins with original batterys. were original batterys exide or something else. i am needing to replace them and would like to get another 8 years from a new set. whats your opinions on batterys?

 

My last set of Optima Redtops went 12 years, didn't touch them once the whole time. Some folks are saying they aren't as good anymore. we'll see.

 

Went 7 years with the red tops, went with blue tops this time, 155.00 each at Costco

 

It seems to me that if you got 8yrs out of the originals,then replace them with the same and should get another eight
