bed tie down loops
bed tie down loops
Are there tie down loops in the front of the bed on a 02 QQ shortbed? I have a drop in liner and can't see. I have holes cut in the rear but curious if there are loops in the front as well.
Thanks
Bill.
Thanks
Bill.
My 1500 regular cab shortbed had 'em. I doubt they make more than one shortbed... They're not really "loops," though. Hard to describe, but there's an oval hole in the floor of the bed on either side with a little bar inside it. I just put some u-bolts on my toolbox to tie off to on the front. Much easier to use, and they're big enough for whatever straps I want to attach to them.
Yep. Have a '02 quad cab shortbed. There are tie downs in the front of the bed too. They are indented and attached flush to the floor. Kind of a pain in the a$$ to get hooks onto with a slide in bedliner. Rhino-lining is in the future!

Thanks again.
I need to tie down stuff all the time, found out right away that the factory tie downs are most of the time worthless.
Bought six of the type that go down in the stake pockets and expand when tightened down, found that they pull out too easy.
What I finally did that has worked excellent is to use the hardware and loops, minus the expanding rubber, that came with the stake pocket loops and bolt them in from the inside of the bed though the stake pocket, no need to drill, there is already a hole there.
Loops face inwards towards the bed, rather than sticking straight up from the rim.

Another trick if you have a toolbox is to use an eye bolt to bolt it to the bed rail at the back. That's how I always had mine bolted down until I got the Jobox I'm using now. It's got a cover inside over the latches that would put that bolt too far forward to be useful
, thus the stainless u-bolts on the box itself as I mentioned before.
