I finally got around to building all the new battery cables last weekend. The project was not too bad, just tedious (probably took 5 or 6 hours total).

I used 2/0 welding cable for all the bigger diameter cables and #4 welding cable for the smaller. The military style clamps were only about $12 for the whole set. I used good quality lugs and heavy duty shrink wrap from custombatterycables. My brother did end up having access to a nice adjustable, dieless crimper tool that looks sort of like a bolt cutter. It only took us about 5 minutes on his lunch break to make the 15 or 20 crimps.

I'm glad I replaced everything instead of just the one clamp. The original lugs are open on the ends and the cables were green with corrosion.
