Bad Headlight Switch

I went to work this morning and had no lights on the truck. The truck hasn't been driven for 2 weeks, but the last time was at night. Checked the fuses and all were good. Pulled out the headlight switch and the harness is burnt at the plug . Looks like I need a switch and plug. Has anyone else had this problem?

Do a search on this and you will find that this is a common problem. May want to invest in a relay system to take the load off of the switch.

Recall was only on the 3500 as they are more prone to burn up the switch due to the marker, cab and tailgate lights adding extra load on the switch.

I bought a new headlight switch and put it in today with the old plug. Everything works but one headlight. This is probably from the one wire that got very toasted. I guess I will try the junkyard for a plug or maybe try napa.
