I use Rancho 9000 because of my normal heavy load and need to adjust back to empty, and after many years no problems.

If you are saying My rancho 9000s were worn out after 30,000 miles, then NOBODY should by these pieces of junk.
I was unhappy with the way they rode (awful) no matter how I adjusted them. The only thing that helped those cruddy shocks was when I had my camper hooked to the truck or when I put #600+ ponds in the back.
The reason they rust so fast is probably because of the salt they use out here.
Go with the Bilsteins you wont regret it.

Just do a search on here and you will see I am not the only one that thinks the Rancho shocks are garbage.
I know I have a 3/4 ton truck, but my jeep thats lifted 6" with 33x12.50 rides better than my truck with the ranchos.
Oh yeah, I also DO NOT have Ranchos on my Jeep.
Rare1, Have you even had the Bilsteins on your truck? See, I have had both of them Ranchos and Bilsteins, so I can actually post my opinion on here and be right.
Heck, if you want Rancho 9000s, I still have all four of them in the garage I will sell you real cheap.

Definitely a road issue. My 01 longbed with camper suspension and the same type Michelins it came with bounces like a ping pong ball on one concrete freeway here, then smooth as a land yacht when it turns to asphalt. Running empty is worse than when towing, even my dirt bike in back helps. When the DOT grinded (ground?) the concrete on a different freeway here there was a huge difference in noise and ride. The part that got grinded (ground?) is much smoother/quieter but it is back to the rodeo when you get to the part they haven't worked on yet.

At 80k miles I know I need to look for shocks too (Bilsteins sound good), but they won't totally eliminate the bucking, it's the concrete vs. wheelbase. Just one of the perks of a real truck.

what is your PSI in the rear tires? are you running 80psi? ...double check...you should be at 45ish...high PSI will cause the bucking...u never know and it will cost you nothing

Thanks I'll check the PSI... they probably are high since I just got new tires and didnt check them myself.

I got the shocks on today. The OEM passenger side shock had failed. I haven't had it on the freeway yet... but am optimistic!

Get the Bilsteins, They seem to be the best all around shock. Many have switched from the Ranchho 9000's to these, like then much beter.
Fot this money, this is the single best thing you can do for your truck & your butt.
Happy Motoring!
