Anyone have any experience with treadwright tires?
Hey all. I'm looking into getting new shoes for the ol' goat. Found treadwright tires' website. They do retreads. They look good. Have some testimonials on their page. The price is great. Just wondering if any of you guys have any experiences with them? So far, all the questions I've asked on this site have been answered with some great info. So I value everyones opinions.
Thanks,
Kerry

hey im like you,i need to save money but get a good tire,i just ordered a set of their 285/70/17 warden a/ts aka bfg all terrain,i did allot of research on the comany,i believe 4wheeler magazine did a big article on them and how durable the tires are,a 2yr 40,000mi warranty not bad either i will post a pic of them when i get them, monday or teus, for the price what do you have to loose
Nice. If I order some they'll be the same size you got, but in the 16 inch flavor. I'm a little concerned about getting them mounted and balanced. I've talked to a few tire shops in town and they say they won't mount tires that weren't purchased through them due to liability reasons. But I have a buddy that works for tds, so I'm sure he can hook me up after hours if I need him too.
in reading allot of the reviews, they balance each tire when they are done making them so well that most of them dont need balancing,i work for the city public works here so i use all our mounting stuff if you are up this way i will balance them for you, could probly even mount them.
I have ran the "Guard Dog M/T's" (goodyear MT) for the past 4 years.
I only had one problem with one weather cracking when it was out of warranty. It had about 55k on it and they sent a brand new tire to my door within 3 days!
They perform the exact same as an origional Goodyear MT, and less than half the price. 99% of people dont even know they are retreads when they are on my truck. Go for it, I have no regrets switching over to a retread, even when im hauling 15K when its 105 degress outside.

Baddodges, awesome you have that resource at work. And thanks for the offer, but it's really rare I'm up your way man. But you never know, if I don't have any luck at home I may be getting hold of you!

got my wardens mounted on the megacab last night,no problems, they all balenced well,an averege of around 5 ozs per wheel not bad, they ride smooth, dont need to post a pic,my buddy has a set of new bfgs on his dodge,we could hardly tell the diff between the 2,i think you will be happy with them
yes the scare of these retreds separating is pretty much a thing of the past,if you have questions on their tire you can log onto their wbsite and ask joel any question you may have,i know he would be happy to answer it
Here is a link I saved a while back,

It shows you how to read the tires manfacture date, seems old tires are prone to blow out, shops sell you outdated tires. and in the states it appears to be a wide spread problem!!!
I used to race a stock class stock car about 10yrs ago, Rules were you had to run a "P" rated tire, so we would buy brand new re-treaded tires, that we would take to a retread shop(transport truck tire place) and have them "shaved "down to the wear bars, never suffered a failure, compared to the guys who ran "used" tires
