Question Alum wheels lug nuts

If you have aluminum wheels, do your lug nuts look different from the steel wheel lug nuts? I put a set of Rickson Wheels on the truck today and noticed that the center caps do not snap on securely. The "flare" on the lug nut is so close to the wheel, the center cap cannot drop on far enough.

These wheels are 5/8 thick and the lug studs do not protrude thru the nuts.

Thanks in advance,

Ronnie

Aluminum whhels take special lug nuts, some have more/less taper & also come with different lengths of threads protruding past the outer wheel.

I have not noticed any difference in lug nuts for factory steel vs. aluminum wheels. Your Rickson wheels maye have the countersink on the holes deeper than a stock aluminum wheel, which would cause the problem you describe.
