Question After Market Carpet? Good? Bad?

My A/C outlet clogged and soaked the jute backed carpet and the foam backed rubber matting under the dash. I cleared the stoppage.

I pulled the seats out and removed the carpet that now smelled like a swamp.

I cut the foam backed rubber up as high as I could because it looks like to replace that means pulling the dash(?).

Dodge Dealer says my 97 club cab 3500 Cummins 4X4 is obsolete and doesn't carry parts. So I'm wondering who makes a good replacement carpet and who sucks.

Any input would be appreciated.

Try LMC truck, they probably bought all the OEM stuff anyway, or you can get some better stuff from a carpet place and make your own...

Clik, run it for a while to make sure you got it. On Greenie, I thought I had it several times, only to be rewarded later with another swamp.

I finally figured out that even setting, my fan was drawing enough air to keep the AC drain from running, put a 5/8" 90 degree water pump bypass hose on pointing down, and have been dry ever since.

As has been pointed out, LMC truck, or ACC carpet

Littlle over 250 bucks for a 97 Ext. cab.

Buying residential carpet and making it fit doesn't work well, unless you are a carpet master. Buy the preformed carpet. It is better suited, anyway. Residential carpet has longer fibers, will wear quicker, and will not have the proper backing for life in a truck.

Most of my career has been spent in flooring, and I have carpeted WAY too many campers and boats. Residential carpet is not the better solution.

I was thinking outdoor or boat stuff....

Not deep green ****, you know to match the smell!!!

Personally I would go with stock stuff....
