After accident/airbag deployment...

do I need to flash the computer or reset anything? Trying to get this girl back on the road. Will the truck start back up with the ignition or does the computer lock the truck up? THanks!

It's been years since I've done airbag work, and things may have changed, but there will be a list of parts in the service manual that need to be replaced following a deployment. The Airbag Control Module was included on the list. As far as I know, the vehicle should start and run without problem though.

It may vary by state but I wasn't able to buy a new airbag until I took a course in them.
Also found out that it's against the law to sell a used never deployed airbag.
Torque fan is correct, unless you replace almost the entire airbag system the light won't go out.
It ends up being an expensive proposition, over $2000.

Well, I bought a donor truck (1/2 ton) for the fenders, hood, bumper, etc. Can I just rob the airbag sensors, airbag, module, etc. from that truck? Or does it have to be brand new parts to make the system work and be legal?

I have to provide reciepts of parts and work done to the Auto Theft Division of the State Police when I go through inspection to get this thing retagged, but there is nothing that states anything about requirements for the airbag system.

Check your local law (on a "hypothetical basis"). Will anyone know what has been done to the air bag? I would find a FSM for your truck & fix it any way I could. Most of my vehicles are old enough not to have air bags. (78 Datsun Z, 85 Mercedes SD) I've managed to survive. Seat belts work just fine if you use them.
