AC Upgrades?

I have a 1998(.5) Ram 2500 24 V. Is there any way to level up the AC on my truck. I live in La so heat is pretty intense in the summer and last year (first summer I had the truck) the AC was barely adequate. I had it serviced right before summer so it was working properly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Keep it serviced...mine is just enough to knock the sweltering heat back when on the road to AZ. I have to recharge it every couple years even though they can't find any leaks...

I put ball valves in the heater lines on mine. When they are closed and the AC is charged up, it puts out about 15 degree colder air.

Mine runs cold for about a half hour then blows warm for about 10 minutes, then cools down again.....the tech says it's from icing the evaporator??

That's common, especially if you're set on recirculating air...If so you can turn off the recirc, and switch to fresh air which will de-ice the evaporator core...Doing so will also raise the temperature at the outlet, but you can switch back and forth...It's a common problem because expansion valves and orifices are not adjustable......Ben
