ABS for real?

Twice since I bought the '00 truck, I've had to make panic stops/slows and both times I ended up with flat spotted tires, ALL of them. As far as I can tell, these is no ABS function on any axle.... Wazzup?

You might want to check and see of someone took out the bulb for the ABS light...Check your fuses too. Also do you have 4 wheel ABS or only rear wheel ABS??? 4 wheel ABS should have a pump motor by the master cylinder and rear wheel will have a set of electric valves. On the 4 wheel you should feel and hear the electric pump run.

Looks like it's just rear wheel from your description. I bet I can find that on the build sheet. I'll look. The light is functioning normally. No lights or codes.
Don't know if you've ever had the same problem but it really, REALLY, sucks, driving around with the tires thumping like they'er square! Thanks for the reply!

Might work...

Grampz I'm wondering if there is a valve problem and it not limiting the pressure...

My 01' (1500) had NO ABS from the factory. Not even rear wheel. One of the best features aboutthat truck (IMO).

I sure agree on that. So far, ABS has almost gotten me killed several times. I had 4 wheel ABS on my 94 3/4 ton and it scared me many times, so traded it for the 97.
This one has rear ABS, and it sucks, but at least you can still stop.
ABS is great when conditions are just right, but other times its a killer.
