ABS Light

My ABS light came on the other day, I have checked the fuses and they are good. What else would cause the light to come on? Thanks
Heath

Probably the speed sensor on top of the rearend. Easy and pretty cheap fix if thats all it is. If you pull it out look at the end of it and make sure nothing is chiped or broke off that is a good indication something came loose in the housing. I think just the sensor is about 35$ or so

If that is what it is. but you could pull it pretty easy to take a look see anyway.

just had to do mine...$39 from the dealer. Auto zone and others say they have it, but its the wrong part. I pulled mine and it broke. So i figured it was a good time to change the fluid anyway.

If your sensor is broken... I would highly suggest that you change the gear lube soon. The material is being ground up by the gear and floating around in the bearings...

Change gear lube is cheaper than change the rear-end...

If your sensor is broken i would suggest to do more than replace the lube i would look very good inside the housing and make sure nothing broke. Like spider gears ect...

Ok sounds like I better order up some oil and a sensor. Sounds like a good project for this weekend. Thanks

abs light

My light just came on. I had my brakes done and I had a blown axle seal and there was grease all over the brake drum. I assume all this related. Everything is fixed except the abs. Is the sensor easy to do ? The guy who did the brakes didn't pick up on this.
