ABS/BRAKE Lights?

I have a 98 12v and the ABS/Brake light has come on and will not go off.
Is there a way to read the code with out a box to tap into the computer? It has come on in the past, but then go off if I turned off the ignition, now it is on and will not go off, when I cycle the switch.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Allen

I have this same issue...See my post on the 24 V engine/drivetrain board. I know what I did to cause it, now I just need to know how to fix it!

http://www.cardomain.com/id/rattlindodge

I believe Autozone's have a code reader, can tell you what code and clear it once it is fixed.

The key on-off-on-off-on works on 2000 and up trucks I think.
(works on mine anyway)

First thing I would check is the sensor on the rear differential.
Take it out, clean it up, and reinstall.

I believe there is an antilock brake sensor on each wheel as well, try cleaning them also.

phox
