95 cab and chassis

Hi, i just looked at a 3500 cab and chassis, it was a 95, and i liked the truck, but i did not like the long bed. It was an 8' bed with a 2' section between the cab and where the bed started. Do these trucks have the rear axle mounted in the same place as the regular duallys? i would like to cut 2' off the back, and have a regular 8' flat bed. is this possible?
