4x4 issues

So I I've got a 97 & the 4x is acting strange. In 2 hi the 4x light illuminates. In 4hi it doesn't & in 4 lo it illuminates. Now I usually fix all my stuff my self but seeings I'm in the middle of building two bikes& remodeling my house I have little time.I sent it to the shop&they have found multiple other issues which I will post questions about later. But for now back to the 4x4.So I was thinking it was the switch but they said they swapped the lines on it & didn't nothing change. They think that the shift fork may be bad.My question is if so what's the easiest way that I can fix this? Does the posi lok have the pieces I will need or???? Because I have zero clue about what goes on in the cad. Thanks in advance a

Did anyone check the vacuum? I had the same problem and it was a vacuum leak.
