4WD indicator light

I'm wrapping up the 2WD to 4WD conversion of my 1998 12 valve quad cab short bed (swapped to 4WD frame with front Dana 60 axle, converted NV4500 to 4WD, installed NV271F transfer case, etc., etc.) I only have a few things left on my punch list before it's complete. I have not yet been able to get the 4WD indicator to function. I installed a Posi-Lok to engage the CAD (locking collar) in the front axle. I have confirmed the Posi-Lok works and the indicator switch functions properly (closes) when the CAD is engaged. I have confirmed the instrument cluster has a bulb behind the 4WD indicator light.

I located an unused 2 conductor plug on the passenger side inner fender. The plug is gray. This plug will plug and lock into the front axle CAD wiring harness from the 4WD donor truck. The plug on the CAD wiring harness is black. The 4WD donor truck was a 1998 V-10 automatic. I'm not sure I plugged the front axle harness into the correct body harness plug, but it is the only plug I could find.

On to my question: Where is the location of the connector for the CAD wiring harness? What color is the plug?

Thanks for the help!

I had the axle harness plugged into the wrong connector. I found the correct connector behind the front crossmember on the passenger side. It is in the same loom as the fog light connector. I tested it with a fused jumper (3 amp) and the 4WD indicator lit up.

During yesterday's visit to a salvage yard, I learned the unused 2 conductor gray plug on the passenger side inner fender is for the right front ABS sensor. My truck has rear ABS only. Therefore, it is unused on my truck. The truck in the salvage yard was a 2001 Ram 2500 with 4-wheel ABS.

Having the fog lights come on in 4wd shoulda been a dead give away, ha ha.

Glad you got it figured out. My truck has had all the wiring in place for a couple options it wasn't built with, heated/power mirrors and clearance lights were all tucked in behind the panels.....
