3rd gen steering wheel in 2nd gen

Anyone know if a 3rd gen steering wheel is direct replacement in a 2nd generation?
Is the newer '05 (give-or-take) wheel any better regarding the leather quality?

Trying to decide what route to go to combat the 'wilting' steering wheel.
Mines not terrible, but noticeable.

I was going to order a Wheelskins, but would prefer the standard thickness.

Sounds like a good idea. I see no reason why it wouldn't fit the only problem might be all the wireing hook ups. I think I would look much better that the ugly 2nd gen wheel. Give us some pics if it works.

I think the connectors on clockspring are different, also you might have issues with the airbag system.
