2x4 & 4x4
2x4 & 4x4
I had a stroke of bad luck a couple weeks ago. My truck found the bad side of a cement post and boogered her up pretty bad. Well I have frame damage and are kind of skeptical that the frame shop will ever get it right. I was wondering how much of a job it is to convert a 2wd truck to 4wd drive with my parts. I have found a couple 2wd trucks. I think it could be done with time and patience but just wonderin how much of a job it is from you guys. Any advice is greatly appriciated.

Re:2x4 & 4x4
My advise to you is take your loses and buy a 4wd. It is a lot of work and I have yet to see a conversion that would fool anyone. They just dont look right. I would also guess that a 4wd frame is stronger. But hey anything is possible. Maybe you could part out your truck oooor leave the keys in it in a bad neighborhood.
Re:2x4 & 4x4
All depends on the body shop. I did a Jeep once that had rolled with the right rear frame extension down about 5 inches and the front rolled left about 4 inches. Came out perfect. I would have no qualms about using the truck if you can get a good shop.
