2WABS odd behaviour, or how I learned to love the FSM

Saturday, truck had been running flawlessly, all of the sudden, the pin holding the clutch and brake pedals slid over and I have all kinds of excitement. Got that fixed, didn't think too much of it, but later, going down the road, my stupid ABS/Brake light is on......... HUH? I hate freaking chasing down systems like this.........

Anyway, the more I drove it, the more data I gathered, when you shut the truck off, the light stayed off until you moved, so it wasn't a current code, and the darnedest thing, it didn't illuminate the lights until you hit about 40 MPH......

Long story short, this is where you grab your FSM ( you DO have one, right? )

Sure enough, if your Brake/ABS light resets with every key switch, it is a code 9 or 11, and code 11 only is active above about 40 MPH....... Code 11 is brake switch on........

Anyway, reset the brake switch, all is good.

Just figured this might help someone else out, never too late to learn something new.

I've had that pin slide over and make things loose. I thought my clutch was going out, wouldn't disengage. Drove it all the way home, 40 miles, just to find that if I would've pulled over and looked I could have just slid it right back into position and been good to go. Lol

Didn't have the light issue.

Actually, my clutch still worked, sort of, it just felt funny, like the MC was going out, it was the brake pedal going to the floor and barely stopping me that got my attention.........

But yea, it was an easy fix, once I got to somewhere I could take a look at what had really happened.

I just had never seen an ABS/Brake light not come on till 40 MPH before.
