2nd gen no overdrive
Hey everyone,
so, I have a 2gen 98' 12v with nearly 400,000 miles on it. I serviced the transmission a few days ago and the day after doing so, the overdrive gear wouldn't engage, as well as, every now and then it wouldn't down shift to first. When I leave the overdrive button in the on position, the shifts are almost unnoticeable. However, when I turn the overdrive button off, the shifts are nice and firm delivering great power. Any ideas on what might be going on? Anyone else encounter the same issue? Thanks in advance everyone for your help.

someone may correct me, but, here is the rumor i heard:
the 47RE is just a 727 with an OD on it, and the OD control is separate & electronic.
so if you mess up the ground wire to the OD solenoid, OD won't work
did you drop the valve body or just do a filter & fluid?
IIRC, the wire harness in there can get old/hard/brittle and cause probs.
