2nd gen beds

Are all second gen beds the same? I am building a rack for another guys truck and he has an '01. Can I use the same measurements as my bed as far as the bed width and taper goes? His truck has some stuff that will make it extremely difficult to measure.

Sorry, I am sure that this has been asked before.

Well they are not any different. I got the rack built today and it fits really well, actually better than the one on my truck.

I have an '01 bed on my '96 - no issues whatsoever.

just keep in mind your measurements may be a touch off due to the natural flex and wear and tear on your bed. For example, i bowed my bulkhead a little when i strap my bikes to it it. This pulled in my sides and what not. Just something to keep in mind.
