2002 dually

Hey guys,
I want to get a 4X4 dually. I saw a 2002 that looks great but was wondering are the 2002 plaged with the VP44 troubles like the 98.5s are? Also what else should I be looking at. I was going to go for a 3rd gen but really like the looks of the 2nd gens,
Thanks guys,
Topper

Hey Tooper,
Finally some one from my area thought I was it {probably not} As far as I know 02 still has the vp44 and 03 they changed every thing .Seems like they are making bigger and better things for the later trucks and they are all ready making more HP stock then 2nd gen. Oh by the way I have some of those ram decals {very cool} but have not used them yet ! Later C.B.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replys! I'm not sure what truck to get. I like the looks of the 02 but I can get an 04 for a few grand more and the 04 doesn't have the DREDED VP44. (I have had to replace 3 so far on my 98.5) By the way how are the 6sp tranies? Do they hold up well behind a mildly bombed Cummins? (say 100-200 hp over stock) I know the clutch will have to go but are there any other issues?
Thanks again,
Topper

Glen is just Glen. Little village about 40 miles west of Albany.
