2002 Disc Posi Rear End Question

About a year and a half ago I put a 2002 disc brake posi rear end under my '95 2WD 2500. I have nothing but praise for that change! But I have a question. I had one of the rear wheels off the ground a few weeks ago, and put the trans in neutral and tried to turn that rear wheel and it I could turn it without too much effort. So my guess is the clutches are worn out. So... 3 questions:

Does it hurt anything to continue to drive it like this?
How much does it generally cost to get the clutches replaced?
Is it something I could do myself?

clutches were like 80-100$ at a local shop, I could have shopped around but did not, very easy to swap out, pull cover unbolt carrier (dont mix up end caps), pull carrier out of truck, unbolt LS, install new clutches and steels, re assemble, took all of an hour.
just remember to soak clutches in gear oil proir to assy (longer is better)
i needed 2 bottles of slip additive

these pieces were broken for a long time, its a wonder they never went thru the gears. mine was a one wheel wonder for a long time, at least a couple months, 8-10hrs a day of use,

not something I'd advise waiting to do, its simple and easy to do

You aren't gonna hurt anything driving it like that.

That doesn't mean your LS isn't working. If you could spin the wheel faster it may have locked up.

However the discs usually wear out by 50K miles.

Thanks Kurt, I hadn't known that. I'll try spinning it faster and see what happens.

However when I bought this rear diff and opened it up, the gear oil was pretty black--evidence I thought, that not a lot of maintenance had been done on the donor truck.

Can anybody decipher these numbers that were on the tag on my rear diff?

3.54 (That's the ratio, I know that)
606708-2
and the next line says, 52069469AL

Pretty sure the 52069469AL is the factory part number, my parts books show slightly different numbers for the service replacement rear ends.

Figured it out, the 606708-2 is the Dana bill of material from the axle build.

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...c-t146194.html

Go here and search the number, brings up the factory Dana parts.

Towards the bottom is a good explanation of the stampings.

Thanks a bunch guys. I'm trying now to order some clutches but nobody knows whether it's a TL or a PL. It's my only transportation right now, so I kinda wanted to get the clutches before I tore into it, but I may have to just wait a bit until I can use SWMBO's car.

Shows a Power Lock on your build sheet, diff parts sheet is 707254X, then you can see the complete parts breakdown with Dana part numbers.
