Question 2001.5 dimmer switch

some times when i try to put on my brights on the lights go out untell you go back to dim and try it again, So my ????? has any one replaced a dimmer switch on a 2nd gen? Do you have to pull the sterring wheel or need sp-tools?

by saying your lights go out do you mean the headlights or the interior lights? if headlights just take the halves of the plastic on the column off, should be a few phillips or torx screws underneath, then see how hard the multifunction switch is to get out, shouldnt be too bad.

That exact thing happened to my truck and autozone had a new headlight switch for about 35 bucks I think. It is the headlight switch and not the turn signal lever. It is easy to get to. Just pull the outer trim off the driver side of the truck and it comes out with a few screws, unplu it and plug the new one in. Make sure you specifiy whether you have driving lights or not. Just one of the many small problems I have had with this truck!

its just the high beem head lights that go out. The low beams head lights ,dashlights, cab & taillights are fine.

If the lowbeems still work can it still be a light switch?
