I found a 01 3500 4x4 drw for $13,500. I have been looking for a truck just like this for a couple years now. I know it is a manual but I dont know if it is a 5 or 6 speed. The truck has about 265,000 miles on it and that is all that is holding me back right now. I dont want to get it and have to overhaul it right away as I am on a limited budget. I know some can make it 400k and some only 150k before it needs to be overhauled, but when would "you" rebuild it? What are some signs of it needing an overhaul? On the average how much does it cost to get one rebuilt? I guess I am just looking for some opinions. I never thought I would be intimidated by a cummins with 265k on it but it is a little different when you are getting ready to buy it. Look in my gallery for the pic. Sorry for the long post too.

i check kbb on that price and its right, sounded high for the mileage.............i'd avoid it considering for about another $5k you should be able to find one with 130kish or less

Is the WHOLE truck as clean as the pic looks? Usually if one is nice and clean, it has been well maintained. Is the owner/owners available for questions? Does it have any mods? Are the service records and repairs available? It might be worth checking on carfax to see if it has any bad records.
If your like me, that's a lot of money and I would want to find out everything I could before I dropped the cash.

I sent the owner an e-mail asking all those questions and a couple more. I did check the history and it is clean. He hasnt replied to my e-mail yet so I dont know if they sold it already or what. If anyone knows of a black dually with black leather and a manual trans. for sale please let me know. I've been looking around here (wisconsin) for a while with no luck.
