1999 trouble codes?
Well,, I did a search on the site to try to find a list of the trouble codes for my truck (1999 QC 4x4 cummins 2500 5spd) but had no luck.. Found lots of stuff about codes but was always a 3rd gen truck.. I can read codes with the old key on/off trick, right?
I'm not throwing any codes now, in fact,, when I try to check codes I get absolutely no response from the truck. Isn't there supposed to be some kind of code that means "no codes" or "end of codes" It's 55 on my ol 85 shelby charger..
Anybody got a link to a site with the codes?
Thanks for any and all replies

I don't think we throw codes that way..Mine doesn't.
Supposedly we can go to auto parts houses and they will read the codes, But the one I tried here couldn't read it either. It showed as not able to connect. I haven't gotten a chance to try a different parts house.

Try it before you have problems, you might have minor indicators and even if you don't. Knowing that it says "no codes read" is better then "unable to connect" (see my above post) They have'nt charged me yet, I guess they figure if I find a problem I'll buy the parts from them.

Get yourself an OBDII code reader - I got one @ Sears for under $100 on sale - it reads and clears trouble codes. Next to the $100 for the Dodge Shop manuals it's the best $100 I've spent on my truck. Best part is you can use it on other autos too.
