I just replaced my fuel filter and now my truck wont start. I can hear the pump, and there isnt any air in the housing what gives? Is there a step i missed or what? The truck was running fine earlier today but when I changed the filter nothing it will roll over and over and I can smell Diesel out of the tailpipe.

Do a search here on replacing the fuel filter. It will give you the procedure for priming and getting the fuel back in the canister. If you have a service manual you will also find the proceedure there.

 

open one of the fittings on top of the filter and turn the ign. on......there should be lots of juice running out (diesel) or pumping out..
Once you have that happening and still no start- crack the inj. (the ones ezest to get to) and crank it for 15 sec a couple of times.When hear sighns of life just barley snug them some more .........it will be running by now......and by the way if you had a FP guage this would take a lot of guess work out of it
