Whats wrong with my 1999 3500
300+ views of what? And for inquiring minds, there's loads of information regarding why the VP's fail on many many threads but its not as straight forward as you probably want it to be because there is lots of rumors, speculation, opinions, frustration, and plain ol' ignorance. So if I can, let me try to simplify..... The early models failed more mechanically and the later models failed more electrically. If you're inquiring for sake of trying to make sure your own VP is safe then there's nothing more you can do than make sure its supplied with plenty of fuel pressure from a reliable fuel pump..........and use some lubricating fuel additive if it helps you feel better.
if you read my first post 1 have 1/2 million on lift and injector pump, how many where repaced because not many techs in dealerships know anything about diesels.fyr have been driving dodge diesels from 1978.
I have a 02 24v took it to dodge they said it had a bad lift pump installed in tank conversion have good fuel pressure 16psi but truck still doing same thing runs great at idle and anything over 1500rpm gets below 1500rpm no throttle responce
Cant say. Thats a question most haven't been able to answer. Why some guys have replaced a few VP's and some VP's seem to last forever. Whats it like where you live and whats the normal temps outside? How do you drive and what are you crediting to driving diesels since the late seventies?
