My dad drives a 1ton dually and does nothing with it but pull a 24 covered stock trailer with cattle. He doesn't really want gauges. I put a smarty on their that was a friends and he loved it and now he wants one. do you think the trucks egt's would get to high? He doesn't go that far and he doesn't drive it hard at all. It would prolly stay on the higher setting and wouldn't be changed that often. Would he be alright this route or should he go with injectors or something else?? I currently have a smarty on my 03 and I don't change the settings much unless I haul a heavy load but I have guages to keep an eye on stuff. The smarty doesn't to bad on my truck as far as egts I just don't know about his 01?

 

Talk him into gauges, its cheap insurance especially when towing with a modded truck.

 

Does the smarty let you change settings on the fly? How many settings does it have?
