For the past few weeks I have been noticing a slight dry cough sound when I restart my truck. It generally occurs when the engine is completely warm, then shutdown and restarted within a few minutes. Today however I ran the engine about 10-15 minutes and then turned it off for about 30 minutes… when I restarted, the engine cranked like there was no fuel, I turned the key back and tried again and it started. I replaced my fuel filter Saturday (it was just time).

What’s going on?

 

Possible fuel delivery problem? Need to check to see if the lift pump (transfer pump) is working. Did you drain the filter cannister when you changed the element?

 

check fuel pressure, and pull codes, go from there could be lift pump and VP-44 related

 

Yes I did drain the filter canister - Why? How do I check my lift pump?
