What to look for when fuel pressure gauge shows decrease?

Well, I guess I jinxed myself by starting this thread, cuz I had some persistent low pressure readings over the weekend...it seemed to get a temporary fix by changing the fuel filter & then a more lasting fix (knock on wood) after a fillup & some aggressive driving.

FWIW I carry a spare LP in my truck at all times. I've relocated my pump along the frame rail by the tank and changing it takes 10 minutes without a ratchet and just wrenches. I recommend carrying a spare incase the pump you have starts acting up and you're in the middle of nowhere.
