What to look for
I am looking at an 02 2500 cummins 4x4 5 speed manual with 71k. Before purchase, what sort of things should I check/look for? I know this is a broad question but just looking to get a general idea. My plan is to hook up to our 24ft tt and take a substantial road trip (8k+ miles). I would like to try and identify problems prior to the trip instead of during. Any suggestions including year/model recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get the vin and have dodge look up the service history of the vehicle. Lift pumps and injection pumps are the weak links so if you have new parts thats good.
Without starting the truck turn the key on, off, on, off, on, off, on and watch for codes to pop up on the odometer. P0216 the death code for the injector pump
