Ok, first of all is there different versions of stock replacement VP44's for different model year of trucks?

If so what would the symptoms be if you put a VP44 meant for a 2002 on a 98?

I have been having two problems that have plagued my truck ever since I changed the VP44, and neither existed before the change. I have done several things to remedy both issues with no luck. So I'm going back to the one thing that was changed before both of these problems existed.

I know the dealer had to order my vp44 because my truck is a ETH if it were not an ETH they had one in stock, so there must be a difference but I do not know what the difference is.
