What fluid to use in a NV4500?

I just bought a NV4500 to swap out my getrag in my 1992. I really like Royal Purple products! I can get really great discounts on Royal Purple products at work! I went to Royal Purples website and it says on there that for a NV4500 to use thier 75-90 Maxgear oil. But for a NV3500 and NV5600 it says to use thier Syncromax manual trans fluid! What is the best to use in a NV4500 and exactly how many qrts does a NV4500 take? Thanks for all your help guys!

run the RP with the gl-4 in it thats what they take and overfill it by one. have had about 10 of those trannies and thats what worked out the best. should hold 5 normal so put in 6. The syncromax is a gl-5 i think and if it is it will eat the brass parts up in it

It shows the Maxgear 75-90 to be the GL-4. So I should use that?

I was told that that is the only thing that has been done to this trans! If I take the top cover off can I visually tell if it has? And back to the fluid, I should use 5 qrts or 6qrts? Thanks, Robert

Are you running the maxgear 75-90? Or the syncromax? And again how many qtrs?

I put royal purple in mine and am now having problems with it. Either the fluid cause it or it is just a coincidence that it starter acting up when I changed fluid.
