Well, It looks LIke I am taking the plunge

Just agreed to buy a new to me 2001 3500 today. The truck has 56k miles on it, completely unmolested and garage kept since new, totally rust free and perfect paint and interior. The fuel system has me concerned and has been my biggest hang up on buying one of these, but with the price I got it for, it leave room for improvements. The plan is (unless someone has better suggestions, which I am open for) to add a FASS system, fuel gauge and light, line kit to remove banjo fittings and pray. Anything else I need to add to the fuel list?

Don't get too caught up in the failed vp44 hype. It happens to some trucks but there are many thousands out there that run fine and go many miles. The fuel pressure guage and light are the best way to monitor your fuel pressure. I have noticed a slight drop in fp over the year and a half I have owned my 01. When I hit 8 lbs I am going to relocate the pump to just ahead of the fuel tank and maybe do away with the banjo's. This should help lengthen the pump life and ease flow a little bit for not a whole lot of money. After the guage I haven't worried too much about it.
