How many miles did you have on it, My first one died at 41000 the second one died at 65000. :'( Be real nice if this one went a looooong time.

I've got 172K on mine... I think it may be a defective box... I took the TD and boost elbow off and it seems to be back to "stock" EWWEEEE

You got one of them good ones, 172k and no problem or have you changed it before. Be nice if they all went that many miles before dying.

Needless to say - if this topic is getting viewed at all... I need signs for if my injector pump is goin out...

I seem to be getting just slightly worse fuel milage than before...

Here's what mine was doing when it was dying.

First start of day, would idle really rough, chugga chugga, but would smooth out after a couple minutes.
Other starts would be fine, until truck sat over 8 hours or so, then it would idle rough again.

Soon became every start all the time, but would still smooth out.

Soon started to do the rough running anytime the RPM's got below 1,000, like when coasting down an offramp, couple of times it would almost die.

Had to take it to the dealer twice.
First time, it wouldn't do it for them.
They couldn't pull any codes, or any other signs.

2nd time I lucked out and it did it as the service writer pulled it into the service bay.

They put it on a "test stand" to determine it was bad, still wasn't throwing any codes.

Okie so here's what mine is doing... NO change in the idle... but I have noticed that my RPM gauge is needling... like bouncing wanting to go to 800RPM but staying at around 700...

Like I said, weird that I'm getting just slightly worse milege...

A slight needle bounce is normal. My needle has bounced since day one. Usually about 50 rpm's or so?

Re:Well it happened - Lift Pump is Dead...

ya know, my first one went at about 8000 miles but i did not know what was going on !!! the first time i changed the fuel filter i had to prime it by hand, the next 2 changes were the same. i thought that was normal ..... i developed a stumble & decided to test pressures ---- no pressure , i put a vacuum guage on & the vp 44 was sucking over10 inches vacuum!!!
I am now on my 3rd..... keep cking pressures kelly & good luck

Re:Well it happened - Lift Pump is Dead...

well i just found out my warranty situation. i got 1 month left! they'll replace the lift pump but they seem reluctant to do anything aobut the injector pump? should i be worried and try to get them to replace the injector pump as well? i don't know when the lift pump went out but it felt like it's been a few months since i've started losing power. what should i do?

If the vp44 is not showing "bad" they won't touch it and I don't know of anything you can do about it.

Re:Well it happened - Lift Pump is Dead...

You should see your Power & Fuel Milage come back with a new lift pump, & also try getting rid of the muffler cause after a long time they get filled with suit & the engine cannot breathe, also check your IAT Sensor & clean if it's dirty & while your at it you may try cleaning your map sensor also!
