Yeah Its been suggested to me by a very knowledgeable source (the same guy that supplied the welding method in my post) to use a big bottle of Barr's and the convert to Evans Cool - the Evans Cool isnt cheap but it may prevent future problems.

Oh yeah, there is a way to make a #53 crack.....you need water, sub zero temperatures and a warm shop....

What does Bars do that helps and what is Evans Cool? And I dont understand what you mean by water. sub zero temp, and a warm shop?

I believe the idea behind both products is to use it if you are off warranty. The Barr's Stop Leak permanently seal leaks in your rad/cooling system, lubricates your waterpump/seals and inhibits rust and corrosion. The Evans Cool is used in place of coolant. It allows your truck to run much cooler and has a much higher boiling point than glycol. I couldnt find their website - they used to have one.
