Weird Start-Up Today!

ok, this may be long or short who knows, i don't really even know where to start, but where ever i do, please help me out, i'm nervous about this!

it was on saturday, i installed the warlbro fuel kit, very impressive peice of equipement, installation went well, and everything works fine, and has been working fine. well today, for the first time today, i got home from work, shut the truck down, mowed the lawn yada yada yada...well then i got ready to go to the grocery store with my grandmother, so i had to move my truck out of the way of her car so we could take that. well, i get in my truck/stick the key in the ignition and turn it on, wait for the "wait to start" light to go out as i always do/crank the engine over a few times, and what do ya know NO START! . so then i bump the starter just once, let the pump run, crank it over for a few seconds, and VROOM, she takes off. didn't change anything about my truck except that fuel pump, nor did i change anything about the way i start my truck, so what happened here? i got back from the store, and it fired up just as normal. so guys, im stumped here. any ideas, please help, for this wieghs heavily on my mind and i don't know what it is, and i NEED this truck to work "perfectly"

thanks a bunch for any help!

You mentioned you've been in the fuel system. It sounds like air is infiltrating somewhere. Might want to check connections.

exactly what rich told me when i called him from Glacier Diesel Power, he's a heck of a helpful and nice guy, and he was talking about that an unhealthy vp44 can't handle that much FP, so he's gonna talk me through lowering the FP to run this dang vp44 into the ground. he was talking about the diaphrams in the vp and that it can get micro cracks in them and they can flex too much and let fuel by them...i know what he was talking about when he told me but it's too hard to try and re-explain. does anyone else know about this issue?

oh, btw, i'm running full pressure that the pump is set at, which is 20 psi, at idle, him and i are gonna set it down to about 13 and he said that it should take care of the hard starts until the vp44 finally gives out.

when you start your truck it should have 0-2 psi then the pump should take off when you start cranking or it starts. if it started better when it pumped for a while you likely have a slight air leak in one of your clamps.

I have killed a vp and seen 3 killed from high fp putting a pinhole in the seal that seperates the crankcase and the vp, it is real easy to diagnose....your oil level goes up till it pukes out the breather and makes a oily mess on the back of your rig. the good news is it can be fixed for $5.00
