I am haveing wastegate problems. The Scan tool says my turbo is exceding its limites. the only thing that i know will cause that is rubber hose that connects the turbo to the wastegate. how can you tell if that is bad. If that is not it what else can it be.

I would say your waste gate is probly stuck in the closed position.

 

My truck has thrown that code since I got it back in 99 w/ 64k on the clock. Don't know why . If I remember that code will not give you a check engine light, mine's been burnt out for a long time now. I check for codes least every 2 weeks and overboost always comes up.

I wouldn't worry about, just be glad it's not stuck open.
