Hi all. I'm new to this site and I'm not sure if this has been posted or discussed yet. So far my 98.5 Cummins 24v is just coming out of its break in cycle, it has 1,450 miles on a fresh rebuild. It's all stock except for the Hamilton rowing efficiency cam shaft, fleece cheetah 63mm turbo and 140 gpm fast fuel pump. The other day I pulled my 3,400 lb. boat on a 20 mile trip. On a slight hill that ascended for for about 4 miles I had to down shift from 6th gear on my ZF6 speed trans cause of low power to 5th gear where i was reduced to 55 mph and 8 psi turbo boost. Running empty 4th and 5th gear will hit 22 psi boost all day but 6th doesn't really have any power. Also my turbo doesn't really spoil till 2300 rpm. With my Cummins swap kit I was supplied with a 3rd gen high flow exhaust manifold. My factory Cummins turbo and the new fleece turbo would not fit due to the waste gate bracket contacting the block. So I modified the bracket to be shorter, also shortening the waste gate rod. Should I look into tuning the waste gate more or should I trouble shoot my vp44. Any thought would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. You guys rock. Original bracket Modified waste gate installed
