I just got my truck a week ago it has 93,000 miles on it. started having low power
I can cycle the ignition and it picks right up. So i checked the fuel pressure 15psi at idle 7wot on the original lift pump. checked codes and of course P0216
So the question is could it be anything else and how long do I have before cycling the key will no longer work

definately sounds like the VP going out. Its hard to say how much longer it will last. It could be 2years, or it could be 2days. I got that code too and started getting a dead pedal every once in awhile. I replaced mine right away. I didn't wanna risk breaking down far from home.

How about filter? If pressure was checked after filter, believe would be looking for VP44. Clear code. If comes back, for sure a replaement is in order and soon.
