VP44 Question

02 Ram Diesel with FASS150 system installed since 2005.Now I got the dead peddle coming home from work checked codes and got the P0216 so I'm looking for a Rebuilt VP44 Pump, Cant afford a Blue Chip, looking for alternatives so can anyone verify Thoroughbred Diesel as a reputable place to purchase a rebuilt VP44. Thanks

Got mine from them just a few months ago and had no problems. I did have to call with a question and they were able to answer right away. Not good or bad but I got the feeling a guy in the shop was answering the phone?

There is a recent thread on this forum or another forum I visit where the OP's Thoroughbred Diesel VP failed and they claimed it was from metal contaminates. The warranty was voided and the OP wasnt happy. Others mentioned that TD had a reputation of being difficult to deal with on situations like that. Yes Blue Chip Diesel is more expensive but he's also hard to beat for every other reason too.

I got my replacement from Thoroughbred. 2+ years and about 25k miles, no issues whatsoever.
They were easy to order from and shipped fast, but I never had to call for any technical assistance or warranty issues so can't comment on that. Shipping the core back was hassle-free as well.

I got about 120K miles out of the original VP44, FWIW.

You could try Diesel Auto Power. I just bought a pump from them and they were good to work with. Their pumps are rebuilt by MWFI. I called them twice with questions while doing the install and they were very helpful.
