VP44 going out cause of this??

Hey all.
So since I put in my DDP 150's, every once in a while when I shift from park to reverse or drive, RPM's will shoot up for just a second, then drop back down.
It goes... Idle in park 800 RPMs..
Shift to drive or reverse, jump to 900 then back down to 750.
This jump is only a half second long before dropping back down.
800 in park and 750 in drive/reverse is normal for my truck. But the jump to 900 at shift is not something its always done.
And It only does it once in a while, and no codes. Ive been checking every few days.

The only day I did have a code since this started, (p0122 TPS low voltage) was coincidentally the same day I turned my juice off to try running my Smarty on 3 for towing all day. Worked well with the exception of the code. But took Smarty off and the code never came back.

I do have a lope with these DDP 150's. BUT they were cleaned and tested by DDP before I put em in and came back perfect by DDP standards.

SO, Is this just a side effect of loping injectors? Or could my VP or TPS be goin out.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks Ian.

I've never heard of a VP doing that. I'd lean toward the TPS, APPS, or the new characteristics of the 150's.

I second the APPS. Mine did close to what you is doing before it went out. Time to talk to TIMBO.

Ugh. Stupid eletrical stuff.
So is it gonna get worse or possibly cause a problem down the road?
Or is it more just annoying till I get a new sensor/s?

Mine got to the point that it was choppy. I would be driving down the road and it would stop sending signal for about 1/2 second then kick back in. It was as though I let out of it completely then floored it. It sucked. I did the TIMBO APPS and have not had a problem since. http://www.dodgecumminsapps.com/contact.html Here is where I ordered mine.

Alright well Im sick of it already. Just ordered one today.

Im wondering if this isnt the cause of why it will sometimes feel as if my tires are slipping when I put my foot to the floor.
I know its not my tires slipping cause the rpm's will drop like sudden fuel loss.
Hopefully thats not my TPS and I need one of those too.

Ill keep you guys posted on how it goes with the new APPS.

If you got it from Timbo, and that was your problem, it will be fixed. I replaced mine with Timbo's and it made a world of difference.

Replaced my APPS with a Timbo one and it cured alot of the annoying drive-ability problems on my truck.

Just got my new APPS from TIMBO put it and so far all seems to be good.

Only drivin a half mile but switched from P to R to D to R to D etc a hole bunch and havent had any of the strange RPM rises and drops I was having before.

I gotta say, The instructions were fantastic! Couldnt have made it more simple with the wording and pictures. As long as this new APPS fixes the problems I was having, I will be recommending TIMBO to everyone needin a new sensor.

Thanks again for the heads up Brandon. And all the guys that replied.

Ian

So Ive been driving around with the new sensor and come to find, it hasnt changed anything.
No hard feelings toward it, still nice to know I have a new good sensor.

My buddy with a 2nd gen just put in Mach 7's from Mach 4's and after having his valves re adjusted said the truck runs and sounds stock at idle.

So Im gonna get mine adjusted since I never have and see if that wont mellow out the idle and rpm bumps. Ill keep you guys posted.
