VP44 from E-bay

Ebay has some VP44s under $1k from Pensacola Diesel and Diesel Care. Has anyone bought from these guys? Are they good and legitimate? I am considering saving some $75 over buying from Midwest and wonder if it is worth it. Would at least save me beer money to help with the grief from the lost VP

Thanks! Sounds good, even $75 is good to save when you are not swimming in money.

Just ordered an IP from Pensacola Diesel. They are not listed under Bosch authorized dealers but claim to be Bosch authorized drive in facility, whatever that means. In talking to a person there, he appeared knowledgeable and nice, took his time talking to me and explaining where they get parts, etc, and they are giving the 1 year Bosch warranty. So the $100 in savings over Midwest was worth taking the risk getting the IP from an unknown place. Hopefully it goes well. BTW, if ordering from E-bay, there's a core charge; I called on the phone and they offer to hold the core charge against your credit card, if they receive the core in 30 days there will be no core charge billed.
He also said, biodiesel was a blessing for them, they rebuild a whole lot more VP44s with people running biodiesel. He recommended only Stanadyne or other specific diesel supplement to fuel, not even two-cycle oil.

Received my IP and LP from Diesel Care and Performance today. Took two day from time I ordered until delivery. Total cost was 1112.45 US. I live in Canada and have not received the shipping cost yet (approximately. 120.00 CAN 2 Day Air Service), but this is a far cry from the 1750.00 I was quoted for the IP and 275.00 for the LP here at home. Just going to pick up a new Cam Sensor and will be assembling today.

Only issue I have, Warranty as stated on Ebay is one year, I received a yellow paper stating warranty on ALL products sold by Diesel Care and Performance is SIX MONTHS. I will call Monday to resolve this issue.

Stay tuned...

As I suspected... the warranty is 1 year and Diesel Care and Performance of Memphis TN is Bosch Authorized ...IP and LP are installed and running fine... JMO but get the pump for the lowest price possible from Bosch authorized dealer. Thanks to all who weighed in on this one especially Diesel Dan. Kudos for the video on IP replacement. Not that I lack confidence but as I get older (43+) I tend to question what I am capable of. When I was 18 I could leap tall buildings in a single bound... Thanks again everybody I WOULDN'T have done this without you all. I saved 1000.00 dollars plus!!!

I got mine from diesel care last november. I believe they are in Tenn. Nice people, fast shipping and I have no problems with my IP. Haven't dealt with the other. If I had to do it again, I would go with them.
