VP44 code

Is it safe to assume that my vp-44 is fried if my truck is giving me code p1688? That is the only code that showd up. My truck just died while I was driving down the road, no loss of power, no funny sounds, it just died. Just looking for some advice. Thanks

Jeff

In one word , YES. You can get a rebuilt one for around $1k and it takes 2-5 hours to put it on.
