VP or what

I've been having not major but intermittent problems with power, some days great others what I would call normal. I just read this thread https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=93335 and with white smoke everyone is saying VP is going only my symptoms are just a little different. On cold days it's normal to see white smoke at startup or so I've read. On my drive to work in the AM cold start, drive about 8 miles and I'm about 170*. If I hit the go peddle WOT I can white smoke the people behind me for blocks. If I'm easy on the go peddle it's normal.

Is this just a condition of cold weather and not burning all the fuel and then all the sudden a WOT run white smoke or the dreaded VP$$

Forgot to mention, no codes. New LP less then 2000 miles ago. FP is 16 idle, 9-10 WOT. It's not a thick white smoke but rather a white haze if that helps.

That's pretty normal.

What are your intermittent power problems?

At times WOT from a stop the rear will break loose, other times a little 4 banger has more get up and go unless I really get on the go peddle, it seems if I baby the truck (most of the time I do that) I have to drive like a bat out of down under to get the power back for a few starts or days. What is that hesitation/resistance on the peddle about 1/2 way down? If I do an apps reset battery disconnect kind, it's gone for about 10 or so miles and then I only get 1/2 throttle or I really have to press it.

I guess long and short I normally drive without really pressing the peddle to the floor, the pressure or hesitation on the peddle stops me from doing that. Some times great response power other times it's a dog. If I press "through" the pressure on the peddle I have power.
