VP-44 electronics
VP-44 electronics
Hi,
I naturally follow the vp-44 threads as I have one that's been around for 140,000 so far. I was on another forum and a guy says he and 3 friends have bought replacement electronics only for the VP-44 from a Bosch dealer. One has a 99 just like mine. I thought the electronics were not available to the puplic. This guy isn't a dealer, maybe a local repair shop worker.
I sent a message to him and replied to the forum, not challenging him but only asking where so I can possibly try to get one myself and post the place here. So far I haven't heard back.
Anybody know if you can buy the electronics only??

I tought the electronics were mostly internally located and would require a complete disassembly? If I had 140K on a OEM pump I would be intersted in a reman or brand new pump just for the sake of having ALL new parts. Just my opinion.

I don't know if you can get the parts... but I would think that the cost would be expensive... and the solenoid at the back should be calibrated to the pump... If you decide on a VP, Chris at Relentless Diesel has a special on VP's this month..
Good Luck

You can not replace the pumps computer with a new computer unless you calibrate them together on a test stand. If these are being sold the are likely used units that are past the bosch tsc date. And chances are they won't last long. The old computers can only take so many heat cycles. Plus if you loosen the mag pickup on the driveshaft inside of the pump you have to calibrate that setting as well. And that is done before the pumps computer is calibrated.

Hello CTD NUT
The cry/dog/****/bos. garbage is cryslurr, do_g_ , cummins, bosch
I have been pestering all of the above and none of them are of any help. They all point to the right and around we or ( I go again).
Talked to a Cummins manager the other day and he said it's funny that you know more about the engines than we do. He said that ifl the voltage is above 8.5 volts that is above what the ECM needs. to operate. But what they don't know about is bad / corrupted voltages.
