Vp-44

I HAVE A 99 DODGE WITH DIESEL DYNAMICS STAGE III INJECTORS AND AN EDGE COMP. THE INJECTOR PUMP AND LIFT PUMP HAVE 8,000 MILES ON THEM AND IN A HARD ACCELERATION WITH THE COMP ON 5X5 THE TRUCK DIED, WHILE I WAS COASTING IT HESTATED TO CRANK BUT IT DID AND IT RAN ROUGH FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN DROVE FINE. DID THE VP-44 FAIL OR WAS IT THE LP.

Do you have gauges? (Specificly Fuel Pressure).
If not you should.
What was your fuel pressure?

Sounds like you just dodged the "Early VP and a box on 5X5" bullet.

Read here for more information.

Why Injector Pumps Fail

I think SH is right but who cares I have injectors and comp box and a pe4200 LP. At 270 gpm this pump is at 19 psi at all times except at comp level 5. The pressure drops to about 14 and down. I think 1st gen just starved his vp of fuel. Injectors and comp can get very thirsty at wot. the pe4200 lift pump is awsome but requires some install fabrication. Also, 1st gen, you should do the high flow banjo kit with the predrilled/tapped hole for a fuel pressure sensor.I didi this on mine and install was a snap. ANY WAY GOOD LUCK 1 ST GEN.

Sometimes when you lift under hard acceleration, the injection pump aereates it's own fuel, and shuts off. Either you get lucky and it fires back up, and runs rough for a littlew while, like you did,, or, you have to open the injector lines and bleed the air out (Like an injector install)

I've seen your condition in many VP44'd trucks, and there is now comon denominator,, but the auto's do it worse. It doesn't mean you inj, pump failed, or your LP, it's just a quirk of this pump.

Just to clarify.
I didn't say he was shouting.
I informed him that on internet bulletin boards, you type in all caps when you want to convey to the reader that you're raising your voice.
We see many 1st time board users here, and just wanted to be sure that he was aware of the protocol.

I defended you on the other thread where you were told about the caps issue. Remember, life is about give and take. If you can't physically type for some reason using normal characters, then that's fine. BUT, do not talk to my moderators in such a manner, or other members for that matter, or you'll find YOURSELF moving on.
