Turbo Time

How long do I need to idle my truck for the turbo to cool down?

Re:Turbo Time

If I go from 70 MPH on the interstate pulling a load to a rest area I'll idle for 3-7 minutes. But if I'm just putting along maybe in a parking lot or down a long driveway etc I don't idle at all.

Just kinda depends on how hard it's been working. 8)

Re:Turbo Time

Keep an eye on the pyrometer (If you don't have one, It probably would be a good idea to get one). It depends on who you talk to, but I let mine cool down below 400 degrees. Some will say a lower temp.....but thats for each of us to decide for ourselves. Most of the time, it doesn't take that long...maybe a min. or two.
