Turbo noise after VP replacement

Had my VP replaced about two weeks ago at a local shop. Took off last week for an elk hunt and towed a trailer to camp. My turbo is a lot noisier now. I do not have a boost gauge but under a load when the turbo spools up it is just plain louder. Does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on? I am guessing this has something to do with the VP replacement but I am hoping to get a few ideas from you folks.

Any help would be appreciated.

my guess is your getting the fuel to make proper boost.

you might have a boost leak at the intake or the boot to the intake that has to be moved out of the way when the pump is changed.

What type of noise? More whistling? Air rushing noise?

Could be you're getting proper fuel so you're actually building boost. Which will cause a whistle and some intake noise as it pulls air.

If you get an air rushing noise, it might be a loose intake boot going into the intake horn. The last time I did injectors I forgot to tighten that clamp up. You could hear it anytime boost came up since it was rushing out past the intake horn.

You know I thought about the fact that maybe my boost is now correct and I am finally hearing the turbo but I have owned the truck for quite a few years and I have never heard the turbo this loud. As to what kind of noise, it is mostly a whistle like the turbo usually sounds only on steroids.

Update, all is well!

Thanks for the tips guys, I took the truck back to the shop and had them look for a boost leak. Sure enough they did not tighten down one of the injector bolts tight and it was leaking. They also replace the gaskets and checked the boot. Sounds like it should again, thanks again for the help.
